Dutch oven or any one pot meals make camping cooking so much simpler. That is why we love them so much on our family camping vacations!

Pot pies are good hardy and filling foods, just perfect for your next camping trip. And this Dutch oven chicken pot pie is easy to do and quick to make.

2 large chicken breasts, pre-cooked and cubed
2 large cans of mixed vegetables
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 10-pack refrigerated biscuits

Before leaving home, pre-cook and cut up the chicken. Seal the pieces in a zippered plastic bag and store in the fridge until the trip or if you aren’t planning on this meal for a few days, freeze the chicken. Just thaw it out before making the pot pie. This makes life a lot easier and helps to save on your prep time when camping.

Mix your chicken chunks, the mixed veggies with the liquid from them and both of the cans of soup in your Dutch oven. Again, don’t forget to soap your Dutch oven for easy clean up later and don’t forget your oven mit or hot pad!

Warm, but do not boil the mixture over the coals of your fire. When it is warm, open the refrigerated biscuits and place them on top of the chicken mix. Cover the oven with it’s lid and let it continue cooking on the coals.

Check on the biscuits after about 15 minutes. When the biscuits have cooked and gotten crispy on top, the pot pie is done. Enjoy this camping recipe!
